“Peepli Live” opens Friday and producer Aamir Khan, it seems, is everywhere to promote the unlikely comedy about…farmer suicides. But that was hardly the case on the set of the film, written and directed by Anusha Rizvi.
“I am not there every day,” Mr. Khan says. “I take a lot of time in selecting my directors. Once I have done that, I want them to take the space to execute the film how he or she wants to. I don’t even get involved in the first cut.”
